I was only able to communicate with the ECM on a 97 Lexus ES300 using the 16 pin connector under the dash on a 97 Lexus ES300. Seemed to me my old DS 708 had aToyota OBD1 adapter that could be plugged in to the underhood diagnostic connector after removing the shorting bar , allowing you to communicate with more systems of these older 96 and up vehicles. This Toyota adapter is omitted in the MS908 I guess because an external power source would be needed to power up the VCI.
